Welcome 58th Northampton

Date: 8th Jan 2020 Author: Gary Jackson

We are delighted to share with you that Sunday 21st December saw the opening of the 58th Northampton (Ihsan) Scout Group, the latest Group within the Northampton Scouts family.

The 58th has been set up to predominately support Young People from our Muslim Communities within Northampton, they will meet on Monday evenings at Overstone

The group has initially opened with around 15 Young People and is being supported by a team of new volunteers.

Opening this group marks a significant milestone as it is something that we have been trying to achieve for a number or years.  It would not have been possible without a fantastic team driving it forward including Elaine Farr, Karen Simpson, Malcolm Dyer as well as Laila Caunhye, Nazir Hussein and the team of new volunteers who have had to pick up Scouting very quickly.  Opening the 58th demonstrates our commitment to deliver Scouting to Young People from more diverse communities within our town, furthering our goal of Scouting for All.

If you wish to find out more about the group, then please contact Laila Caunhye, Group Scout Leader via email.
